Welcome, Mike Smith
Please join us in welcoming Michael (Mike) Smith to the Healthy Acadia team!
Mike joins our team as Technology Manager. Mike provides technical support on various digital, audio, and visual systems and peripherals to our team, ensuring that we all have the technology and skills we need to support our work.
Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Swarthmore College. He has more than 20 years of combined professional experience in Market Research, Healthcare (Primary Care, Cardiology, Dentistry, Home Health Care), Insurance, Retail, Hotel, and Restaurant Management and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team.
Mike, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?
The 20-year success and rapid growth of this organization as a leader in Community Health/Public services management in my adopted hometown combined with the opportunity to help shape the next 20 years of successes to come.
What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?
The breadth of services and programs offered, all of which touch aspects of community life that have long been near and dear to my heart.
What most inspires you on a personal level?
Great food, beautiful music, and authenticity in each human interaction.
What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?
Eat good food with good friends in any one of our many varied and excellent local restaurants and eateries, though time spent working in my own kitchen with my cat by my side is a close second.
An active participant in local community theater productions, you can often find Mike on stage singing, dancing, and generally acting the fool.
