Emma, what prompted you to join the Healthy Acadia team?
I was drawn to Healthy Acadia because of its holistic approach to building stronger communities. I believe systemic change is created through collaboration and was excited to be apart of a team that utilizes partnerships and shared resources to fight food insecurity in our region.
What most inspires you about Healthy Acadia's work?
Everyone deserves access to nutritious food. Healthy Acadia's Downeast Restorative Harvest project, gleaning initiatives, food security networks, and other food programming inspires me because it helps make this right a reality for more people in our communities.
What most inspires you on a personal level?
I'm inspired by curious, passionate people. It's a contagious energy!
What is your favorite thing to do, or place to be, in Maine, and why?
Hiking and beach combing. Being in nature helps re-center me and has a significant impact in my overall mood.
I'm happiest when I'm in, on, or near the water anywhere in Maine, though swimming in Chesuncook Lake and sea kayaking off of Stonington are definitely favorites.
