Maine Recovery Core

Maine Recovery Core evolved from Healthy Acadia’s unique three-year AmeriCorps/ Maine RecoveryCorps program launched in 2018. Recovery coaching positions that began as national service positions have been reimagined as paid internships. This new structure continues to be coordinated by Healthy Acadia and focuses on offering recovery support services in communities throughout Maine.

Maine Recovery Core interns are trained recovery coaches, offering direct peer support with the aim of improving recovery success among individuals facing substance use disorders. Healthcare sites, law enforcement sites, correctional facilities, and community organizations across northern and eastern Maine serve as host sites for one or more Recovery Core interns who support clients within the service area of the host site. Recovery Core interns are trained as recovery coaches to support individuals in various settings in all stages of recovery from substance use disorder.

Interns are provided with guidance, mentoring, support, professional development, public health experience, workplace immersion, skill building, and peer support. Recovery Core interns are currently serving in ten of Maine's sixteen counties.

Interns are urgently needed to serve as recovery coaches in Hancock County!

Pay rate is $15.00/hour.
