Farewell, Lucie Nolden
Today is Lucie Nolden's last day as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Healthy Acadia. Please join us in wishing her a BIG thank you and a warm farewell!
We really struck gold when Lucie joined our team one year ago as an AmeriCorps VISTA member through the Hunger Free America initiative. In addition to supporting existing projects such as the Downeast Gleaning Initiative, Hancock County Food Drive, and FarmDrop, Lucie launched the Food Access Booth at the Bar Harbor Farmers’ Market where she piloted a Maine Senior FarmShare market voucher program and also made it possible for SNAP customers to shop at the market. Lucie is also one of the driving forces behind the new YWCA Winter Market (next market is this Sunday!).
Lucie is responsible for organizing a county-wide Community Food Access Workshop at Loaves and Fishes last November, developing a Hancock County Food Security Network website, and supporting Common Good Soup Kitchen through grant writing and VISTA recruitment. Lucie is a genuine GO-GETTER and a change-maker.
Lucie, you have left quite the mark on our organization. We will truly miss you!
Lucie will be living and working just down the coast in Lincolnville, so she will still be a part of Healthy Acadia's extended family. Lucie has taken an exciting new position with Maine Federation of Farmers Markets to support food access initiatives at midcoast markets, and will also be farming at Seek No Further Farm.
